At Friendly Farm, we believe the best classroom is outside. Our Kids Learning Series gives children the opportunity to explore the farm, learn real-life skills, and experience agriculture in a fun, hands-on environment.
These farm education classes for kids are designed to connect children with nature, animals, food, and practical skills that many kids rarely experience today. Each class is interactive and encourages curiosity, creativity, and confidence.
Children will have the chance to participate in activities such as:
• Farmer for a Day – learn what it takes to care for animals and run a farm
• Boys Need to Be Boys Day – outdoor adventure, building, exploring, and problem solving
• Birdhouse & Bat Box Workshops – build wildlife habitats and learn why they matter
• Goat Care Basics – meet the goats and learn how farmers care for them
• Potato Tubs & Gardening – plant and grow food the farm way
• Stargazing Nights – explore the night sky from the quiet countryside
• Preschool Farm Days – gentle farm experiences for younger children
Our goal is simple: help kids learn where food comes from, how farms work, and how to enjoy the outdoors.
Classes take place on our family farm and are led by experienced farmers and educators who love sharing their knowledge with the next generation.
Whether your child loves animals, enjoys building things, or just needs more time outside, the Friendly Farm Kids Learning Series offers meaningful experiences that combine education, agriculture, and fun on the farm.

Sometimes boys just need space to build, explore, work hard, and get a little muddy. Our Boys Need to Be Boys Farm Day is designed to give boys the opportunity to learn practical skills, spend time outdoors, and experience real farm life.
During the morning session, the boys will help with real projects around the farm. Whatever work needs to be done that day is what we’ll do together. That might include building something, fixing fences, working in the garden, helping with animals, or other hands-on farm tasks. The goal is to teach responsibility, problem solving, and the satisfaction that comes from doing real work.
After the morning projects, we will take a break and share lunch together on the farm.
In the afternoon, the boys will head out to the woods and creeks around the farm to explore, play, and just be boys. Expect climbing, exploring, building forts, and enjoying the kind of outdoor freedom that many kids rarely experience today.
This class is boys only. The goal is to create an environment where boys can relax, learn, and enjoy time with other boys without the pressure that sometimes comes with mixed groups.
Parents are asked not to stay during the class, as boys tend to participate more freely and confidently when parents are not present. However, for safety and accountability we will ask one parent volunteer each month to remain on site to help maintain two-deep leadership.
